Hello I'm Christina
Who am I?
I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. I am a first-generation American, and my family immigrated here to seek refuge from the Khmer Rouge. My mom and grandma, both raised me as single mothers, and shaped me into who I am today. They taught me the values of family, compassion, and appreciation. Because of them, not a day goes by that I’m not thankful for the position they fought to put me in. I aim to spread the idea of care and understanding that was so heavily instilled in me throughout my life.
What do I do?
I am a UX/UI and Visual Designer currently @ bld.ai. I’ve created about 20+ products for Fortune 100 companies and startups. My typical day consists of team sprints, client meetings, and building design mocks/prototypes. I work in small teams that usually consist of 5+ developers, 1-2 product managers, and then the internal client team. I collaborate with my team to identify problems and pain points, define milestones, and then translate these to meet both client and user needs. My design process includes research, planning, design, iteration, testing, and then repeat!
Why is this my passion?
I learned that through user experience, I have a direct opportunity to improve people’s lives, make them feel considered, and provide a comfortable space. These are all things that personally bring me a lot of happiness and fulfillment.
